Nature’s masterpiece and a castle straight out of a fairy tale – all in one unforgettable adventure!

Step into a world of underground wonders and medieval legends with a tour to two of Slovenia’s most iconic sights – Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle.
Postojna Cave is not just any cave – it’s one of the most famous in the world! Ride a unique underground train into a stunning karst world carved by water over millions of years. Wander through gigantic chambers, marvel at sparkling stalactites and stalagmites, and meet the mysterious olm, also known as the "baby dragon" – a rare, blind cave-dwelling creature found only here. The experience is magical, cool (literally – bring a jacket!), and completely unforgettable.

After the depths, rise to the cliffs with a visit to Predjama Castle, the largest cave castle in the world. Perched dramatically in a sheer rock face, this Renaissance fortress is filled with secret passages, hidden tunnels, and stories of rebellious knights. Most famous is Erazem of Predjama, Slovenia’s own Robin Hood, who defied the emperor from this very castle.
The mighty Predjama Castle has stood for over 800 years in the middle of a 123-meter-high rock wall. It is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest cave castle in the world.
It is also associated with the legend of the robber knight Erasmus of Predjama, who, after a dispute with the Austrian Emperor Frederick III, successfully resisted the besiegers of the castle for over a year, until he was betrayed by one of his servants, who lit a candle in the window of Erasmus's room. This led his enemies to pelt him with stone balls. Erasmus's grieving girlfriend is said to have buried his body in the center of the village in front of the Church of Our Lady of Sorrows, and planted a linden tree over it, which still stands there today, known for its venerable age and hollow trunk.
Predjama Castle was first mentioned in 1274, when it was built by the abbots of Aquileia and given a Gothic appearance. It was later rebuilt by new owners from the Luegg family, whose most famous representative is Erazem Predjamaski. Predjama Castle is considered the only fully preserved cave castle in Europe, and with its famous location it offers a unique insight into the construction techniques and ingenuity of medieval people who sought refuge right at the entrance to the cave.
This mighty castle has been the setting for numerous documentaries and feature films. Among them, the most prominent are the documentary-reality series by members of Ghost Hunters International and the film Armor of God, in which the action movie hero Jackie Chan plays the main role. Inside the castle, you can see the renovated room of the main castle attic, which displays numerous replicas of weapons, from spears and halberds to swords, war hammers, bows and crossbows, and armor.
