Introducing the Hiša Museum
Have you ever rested on a fakir's bed? Or created a completely new landscape and then watched nature unfold before your eyes? When was the last time you blew a soap bubble, floated in the air, watched a dancing liquid, or tried to balance? Where on Earth can you hear your own echo, create a mirror image of yourself, see vehicles going uphill, and observe bioluminescent fish in the dark waters of the ocean? Have you discovered your frequency? Have you ever limped long distances or seen the world through different eyes? You can experience all this and much more at the Hiša Museum.
The exhibits at Hiša only truly come to life when you touch them. By moving them, rearranging them, squeezing them, and playing with them, you discover something new every time.
Hiša is science, presented in an entertaining way, where experiments are works of art. We aim to show that the transition from art to science is fluid, and the Hiša thrives in this transitional space. The instructions for the experiments are illustrated with a touch of humor. The Hiša houses a permanent exhibition of the work of Slovenian cartoonist Božo Kos.
The regular opening hours for individual visitors are every Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.,
and every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (the number of visitors may be limited during these hours).
For more information, please call the House at 01 300 6888 or 031 730 077.
If you arrive in Ljubljana on foot and are at the Dragon Bridge (Zmajski most), head to the left bank of the Ljubljanica River. Cross the first street and turn right onto Trubarjeva Street. Look to your left. You'll see us immediately: we are the second house on the left. If you wish to reach Hiša eksperimentov by bus: buses 2, 13, and 20 will take you to the Krekov trg stop, and the Dragon Bridge (Zmajski most) is just a 2-minute walk away. Hiša eksperimentov does not yet have a train station. Exit the train station at Ljubljana Central Station and walk for about 10 minutes along Resljeva cesta. Turn left onto Trubarjeva cesta. If you're wearing inline skates, head towards Zmajski most and continue on foot, although you'll be a bit faster. However, when entering Hiša eksperimentov, you'll need to take off your skates (the other visitors have toes!). Ask for slippers.

Tivoli Park is Ljubljana's largest park, connecting the city center with the wooded area of Rožnik and Šiška Hill. Based on a plan drawn up in 1813 by the French engineer Blanchard, it was created from two parks that formerly surrounded the Podturn and Cekin mansions. The park's design features three main promenades lined with avenues of wild chestnut trees, complemented by flowerbeds, unique trees, numerous statues, and several fountains. The park is home to more than 80 tree species, many of them exotic.
Tivoli Park is a typical urban park and one of Ljubljana's most important green spaces. It plays a crucial role in connecting the meadows and woodlands outside the city with other urban green areas. Its history, spanning more than two centuries, is fascinating, as is the tradition of visiting and strolling through it. For the city of Ljubljana and its surrounding area, it holds symbolic significance and is well-known throughout Slovenia. With its extraordinary biodiversity, it provides a habitat for rare and endangered species, primarily birds and the hermit beetle (Osmoderma eremita).
The park is listed as a protected natural area of local importance, as well as a natural monument, and is one of the four protected areas within the landscape park.

He didn't own a mule, but the house in Trnovo he moved to in 1921 soon became a tower: a cylindrical annex with two round, two-story rooms. After buying the neighboring houses, Plečnik added a garden to his home and, later, an original winter garden, just as the architect who left his mark on Vienna, Prague, and Ljubljana during the first half of the 20th century envisioned it. Among the most interesting rooms are his studio, with desks piled high with instruments, plans, and models; the austere-looking bathroom, with its ingenious wood-fired shower; the small living room, where he received friends and colleagues (note the stove with its built-in copper kettle); and the kitchen, with its special chair that allowed him to eat and work simultaneously. After touring the house, it's difficult to reconcile the modesty of this man with the grand buildings that have left such an indelible mark on this city.
